The 25 Best Wedding Venues in Savannah, Georgia

Posted: April 2026

Bride and groom walking down the aisle after ceremony during wedding in Brunswick, Georgia

If you’re planning a wedding in Savannah, Georgia, I have good news: you’re already halfway to something beautiful. This city has a way of doing the hard work for you — Spanish moss draped over live oaks, cobblestone streets that belong in a movie, and a warmth that isn’t just the Georgia heat.

But with so many stunning venues to choose from, narrowing it down can feel overwhelming. That’s why I put together this guide.

I’m Jami Brannen, a Savannah-based wedding photographer with over 100 weddings in the books. I’ve shot at every venue on this list — which means I’m giving you something most venue guides can’t: honest, first-hand insight from someone who’s actually been there, camera in hand, on a wedding day.

Here are my picks for the 25 best wedding venues in Savannah, GA, organized by style so you can find your perfect fit.

Downtown Wedding Venues in the Heart of Savannah

When it comes to getting married in the heart of Savannah, couples are genuinely spoiled for choice. Downtown Savannah offers Victorian mansions, manicured green spaces, and intimate indoor venues — all within walking distance of the city’s best restaurants, hotels, and bars. Here are my favorite downtown picks.

1. Forsyth Park

Price Range: $$ | Location: Downtown Savannah

Forsyth Park is the crown jewel of downtown Savannah, and for good reason. It’s green year-round, which means no matter when you get married, you’ll have lush grass, towering oaks, and that signature Southern atmosphere working in your favor.

The 30-acre park is iconic for a reason — the fountain, the Spanish moss, the open air — it all comes together in a way that photographs beautifully at any time of day. You can keep it as intimate or as large as you’d like, since the park will rope off your chosen area for your ceremony.

The bonus: you’re steps from downtown accommodations, restaurants, and shops, so your guests can make a full weekend of it.

2. The Clyde

Price Range: $ | Location: Downtown Savannah

Nestled in downtown Savannah, The Clyde Venue offers a distinctly unique wedding experience for couples who are looking for something memorable. The intimate indoor space exudes sophistication, setting the perfect tone for celebration. The Clyde Venue features a small outdoor section, which provides an ideal cocktail hour venue. While I love this venue and always enjoy visiting, it is worth noting that the venue does not have a designated area for the bride and groom to get ready, and the lighting is not optimal for photography. But these drawbacks are minor for couples who find The Clyde Venue to be the perfect inner-city fit.

3. The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort and Spa

Price Range: $$$ | Location: Downtown Savannah

If you want a waterfront venue with full-service luxury, the Westin is one of the most stunning options in the city. Ceremony locations overlook the riverfront historic district — and I cannot overstate how gorgeous that backdrop is. You’re getting the beauty of downtown Savannah without the traffic noise.

The venue is all-inclusive and can accommodate everything from an intimate gathering to a ballroom wedding of 800 guests. Multiple event spaces give you flexibility: the Grand Ballroom (up to 800), the Harbor Ballroom (150), the Riverscape Room (100), and the Harbor Lawn (300).

4. The Harper Fowlkes House

Price Range: $$ | Location: Downtown Savannah

This one is pure Savannah elegance. The Harper Fowlkes House is a Greek Revival mansion with oil portraits, lush furniture, and history baked into every room. It’s the kind of venue that makes guests stop and look around when they walk in.

It accommodates up to 140 guests for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and 120 for a seated reception — perfect for a refined, intimate celebration. Both indoor and outdoor ceremony options are available.

5. 10 Downing Room

Price Range: $$ | Location: Downtown Savannah

Located above Churchill’s Restaurant and Bar, the 10 Downing Room is one of my favorite smaller venues in the city. The large north-facing windows make the light in here exceptional for photography — genuinely one of the most photogenic indoor spaces I’ve worked in.

It’s best suited for guest lists under 100 and comes with a private entrance, a well-stocked bar, and on-site catering. Low stress, high style.

The year-round venue is perfect for couples looking for a traditional and storied location. It is important to note that non-members can only get married there if they have a connection to the church, following its strict rules, including a no-flash photography policy. Despite the regulations, staff members at the Cathedral have been nothing but kind in my experience, and the weddings I’ve shot here have always been truly special.

A Few Final Tips From Your Photographer

Before you book, here’s what I’d tell any couple I was meeting with for the first time:

Visit in person before you commit. Photos of a venue — even great ones — don’t tell you everything. Visit at the same time of day as your ceremony to understand the light and the feel.

Ask about what’s NOT included. Many venues look all-inclusive but have a list of preferred vendors, required rentals, or added fees that can change your budget significantly.

Think about your photos. I’m obviously biased, but the venue affects your photos more than almost any other decision. Natural light, interesting architecture, greenery, and space to move all matter. If you want to talk through which venues photograph best for your vision, I’m always happy to chat.

Book early. Savannah is a popular wedding destination, and weekends in spring and fall fill up fast — sometimes more than a year in advance.
