Photographing a Whitfield Chapel wedding feels like stepping into a love story that was always meant to be told in Savannah — and Callie and Garrett’s day was exactly that. From a sunrise at Tybee Island to a private last dance after the guests had gone home, every chapter of this March wedding was written with intention, tenderness, and a whole lot of faith.

How It All Began

Callie and Garrett have one of those origin stories that makes you smile every time you hear it. Callie used to babysit Garrett’s younger siblings, so she got to know his family long before she knew him. It was Garrett’s little brother who finally played matchmaker — and the rest, as they say, is history. Callie is a 4th grade reading teacher, and Garrett recently completed his service with the U.S. Marine Corps and is now working toward becoming a lineman. Two people building something meaningful, in every sense.

“Working with Jami was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. She has such a calm, peaceful presence that immediately put us at ease. She has an incredible eye for detail and captured so many meaningful parts of our day that we will cherish forever. Every photo feels intentional and tells a piece of our story so beautifully. We are beyond grateful for Jami and the way she documented our wedding day.”

The Morning Before

Before Callie ever put on her dress, she gathered with her family to watch the sunrise over Tybee Island. That quiet, golden moment set the tone for everything that followed — calm, present, and full of gratitude. Meanwhile, Garrett got ready with his family and rode to the chapel alongside his grandfather, who would go on to officiate their ceremony. Those separate, unhurried mornings were a gift.

A Ceremony Centered on Something Greater

Their biggest priority from the very beginning was honoring God in everything they did — and it showed. Whitfield Chapel, with its history and intimate scale, was the perfect vessel for a ceremony that felt both sacred and deeply personal. Garrett’s grandfather stood at the altar and spoke over them, a moment the couple says they will carry with them always.

The details were layered with meaning. Garrett, his father, and his grandfather each wore custom photo patches honoring Garrett’s uncle who had passed away — a quiet, beautiful way to keep him present. Callie’s bouquet was a treasure: the bow was made from her mother’s wedding dress, tied with lace from her great-grandmother’s gown, and held a photo charm of her grandmother. It also served as her something borrowed and her something blue — her sister had carried it at her own wedding. Every detail was a thread connecting generations.

The Celebration at Vic’s on the River

After the ceremony, guests made their way to Vic’s on the River, where Victor Hall became the backdrop for an evening of joy, incredible food, and plenty of laughter. The color palette — soft blues, greens, and white — echoed the natural beauty of Savannah all around them, cohesive and unforced. Callie’s Maggie Sottero gown (with pockets — her words, and honestly, a highlight) was timeless and effortlessly elegant. Garrett complemented her perfectly in a tan suit with a floral tie that felt as fresh as the spring air outside.

The Moment They’ll Never Forget

When the last guest said goodnight, Callie and Garrett stayed behind for one final dance — just the two of them, alone in the room where they’d just celebrated with everyone they love. In a day that moves so fast, that quiet moment gave them space to breathe it all in. It’s the kind of ending I hope every couple gets.
